After Jessie J's success with number two hit 'Do It Like A Dude', she had to prove that she's not just a one-hit wonder. And, in my opinion, she's managed that.
It is a bit puzzling how different this song and video is to 'Do It Like A Dude', but I prefer this side to Jessie J.
In 'Do It Like A Dude', we saw Jessie J as quite a feisty, scary girl. She is pictures in tight, short outfits and studded black lips. In 'Price Tag' , we see her in colours, and smiling. We also see, at first, in the video a nursery rhyme tune, and a teddy bear.
What I like about Jessie J's tunes are that they make sense, and the lyrics mean something. 'Price Tag' is all about how everybody has a price, and why aren't they all equal? She presents this issue in a fun, rhythmic tune. I prefer it to 'Do It Like A Dude'. And so do the public apparently - it went straight to number one!
